Today I'm going to share with you one of Catherine Ponder's powerful affirmations for happiness, found on Page 75 of her book, "Open Your Mind to Receive":

“A LOVING GOD WANTS ME TO BE HAPPIER THAN I’VE EVER BEEN BEFORE! I HAVE A DIVINE RIGHT TO BE HAPPY, SO I CLAIM MY HAPPINESS NOW!"

If you've been practicing the affirmation process I shared with you in the last post, then no doubt you've been going deep into the meaning of each word of your affirmations, ensuring that your words are not just being said by rote, but with feeling and emotion. (Yay! Keep it up!) We're going to apply that same concept to today's affirmation, with emphasis on one particular word: GOD.

So, what does the word "God" mean to you? How do you feel inside when you hear or say the word "God"? It's important to understand that your emotional and mental associations with the word God will determine whether or not you reap the wonderful benefits of this affirmation. Notice that Catherine begins the affirmation with "A loving God". Take a moment and allow those words to swirl around in your mind and heart. Do you believe that God is loving? Many of us, myself included, have heard opinions to the contrary. So what do you believe?

Albert Einstein Friendly Universe
“The most important decision we make is whether we believe we live in a friendly or hostile universe.” ― Albert Einstein

Think about that for a moment. This is a fundamental, core belief we're talking about. It may not be something you consciously think about every day, but your beliefs about the nature of God, and the universe as a whole, exist within your subconscious mind - along with the rest of your beliefs, and they are influencing every aspect of your life. If you notice you have any resistance to the term "A loving God", take some time to analyze that. Question any thought that arises to the contrary, and know that no matter where you picked that thought up from, you have full and complete power to drop it like a hot potato and choose a new one. ;) One of the most beautiful things about being human is our ability to change our minds, which in turn, changes our lives.

Wishing you happy thoughts...

How to Forgive Someone Through Release
Have you ever had a difficult time forgiving someone? Or maybe you're not even sure how to forgive someone? If so, then we probably have a lot in common. You know that holding on to anger and resentment is detrimental to you emotionally and physically, and you honestly, truly want to forgive, but how do you do it? How do you just let it all go? The following process might be the golden ticket you've been looking for. It can help you to finally let go of all of that yucky stuff that's been clogging up the natural free-flow of your energy and standing between you and your good! The secret? Focus on releasing instead of forgiving. I'm going to share with you my own personal affirmation process using a powerful affirmation from Catherine Ponder's book, "Open Your Mind to Receive". It has been helping me tremendously to forgive and release people and experiences of the past in ways I wasn't expecting. It's from Chapter 2 "Your Gift of Release." The affirmation is:

“Christ in me now frees me from all resentment or attachment toward or from people, places, or things of the past or present. I manifest my true place with the true people and with the true prosperity now."

I have been meditating on that affirmation for 10-15 minutes every morning when I wake up, before I go to sleep at night for another 10-15 minutes, and then throughout the day as it comes to mind, and WOW all I have to say is POWERFUL STUFF! In my experience, the key is to not just say the words over and over, but really feel them, and allow each word to resonate deep within you.

Here's my own personal affirmation process:

Open Your Mind to Receive by Catherine Ponder
Whenever I start with a new affirmation, I begin by memorizing it first. I read it a few times, and then try to remember it. I do this over and over, piece by piece, until I have the statement memorized. Once I have it, I close my eyes and repeat the affirmation very slowly, word by word, allowing myself to really feel and identify what each word means to me. For example, when I say the first word in this affirmation, "Christ", I feel a rush of life inside of me, and I think about the powerful love of Christ, the same love that lived through Jesus thousands of years ago, and is still living through us today. When I say "Christ in me", I connect to that same powerful love that is always present within me, constantly flowing from the center of my being to the entire Universe, and everyone and everything in it. When I say "Christ in me now frees me", I feel a huge relief inside, knowing there is a presence within me greater than my "little mind" that's doing this work for me. When I follow that with what I'm being freed from, "resentment or attachment..." I can actually feel a sense of freedom and release happening within, and I see images of people and experiences of the past coming to the forefront of my mind to be released.

(Remember: Saying each word slowly and connecting to the meaning of each word before moving on to the next is the key!)

I have been doing this particular affirmation for over a week now, and I'm feeling so much lighter! It's amazing too, because during the day, even when I'm not thinking about it, images of people or specific experiences have been bubbling up to the surface. Recent things, as well as things I haven't thought about for years, started coming to mind, and I observed myself getting upset or agitated thinking about them. Then I realized they were showing up not so that I would feel the painful emotions again, but so that I could finally loose myself from them and let them go! Duh! Which is exactly what I started doing. So all throughout the day, if a painful memory arises, I use the same affirmation above, except I replace the broader terms with the specific person or situation that has come up. I even alter it a little bit. Here's an example:

“Christ in me now frees me from all resentment or attachment toward or from [person or situation] from the past or present. I am free and they are free too! Thank you God for bringing this to mind to be released! I now allow the love of Christ to flow freely between us once again. God, I let go, and let you do your Holy work now and forever. Thank you, thank you, thank you."

The more I do it, the more free and loving I feel, and I know that by releasing these things I'm making room for my new good to come to me. Think about it like this: We're all vessels, and each one of us can only hold so much "stuff" within our body, mind, and energy field. Holding on to old stuff means less room for new stuff, because it's taking up space. Makes sense, right? And, since we're all connected to each other energetically, the other person will feel your release, and they will benefit from it as well. As Catherine mentions in her Dynamic Laws of Prosperity Lectures, "Everyone wants to forgive, whether they realize it or not consciously." I'd like to add that the opposite is also true: deep down, everyone wants to be forgiven, even if they won't admit it. ;) So join with me as we move forward, boldly releasing things of the past and easily letting in all of our bright, shiny, new blessings.

Here's your 5 Step Recap: Forgiveness Through the Power of Release

1. Memorize the affirmation.
2. Meditate on it for at least 10-15 minutes in the morning.
3. As memories come up during the day, apply the affirmation to the specific person or situation.
4. Meditate on it again for at least 10-15 minutes before you go to sleep at night.
5. Remember that as you release, you are making more space for your good, so welcome it in!

I would love to hear your thoughts below, and feel free to share this article with someone else who, like you, is ready to release the past and make room for all of the good the Universe has in store!

I've been wanting to create a site dedicated to Catherine Ponder and all of her wonderful work for quite some time now. Little did I know, the day I decide to actually launch the site would be on her birthday!!! I didn't realize it until I was scrolling through my facebook newsfeed today, and saw a post from the "Catherine Ponder Quotes" fan page I liked a while back:
My mouth dropped open, I couldn't believe it! "No way!" I thought... "Is that for REAL??!!" "I decided to launch the site on her BIRTHDAY??!" :D!!! I love the synchronicity of the Universe! It gave me that extra push I needed to get the site up, and helped me to know that I was in Divine Timing!

As you all know, it's also Valentine's Day, so sending lots of love to you and yours! If you happen to be reading this after today, I'm still sending you lots of love as I feel that everyday should feel like Valentine's Day. :)
